About Mohali

Mohali is known by different names such as (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar) or (Ajitgarh), is a city in Punjab, India. Mohali City is a commercial hub of the south-west region of Chandigarh. The administrative headquarters of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar is also in Mohali. Its name is based on the eldest son of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji (Sahibzada Ajit Singh) as SAS Nagar. It is also known as (The City of Sahibzada Ajit Singh), but the name “Mohali” is still popular among the local people of India.

Now a day’s Mohali is the most popular city of Punjab as well as in the northern region of India. It is rapidly developing as an IT Hub of Punjab. The government of Punjab has taken many steps to make this city the best place to live in the northern region. This city has many sports venues like international cricket stadium, hockey stadium, golf course, etc. This city has its own International Airport and many projects like World Trade Centre are also developing fast.

Chandigarh, Panchkula and Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar form a part of Chandigarh Tricity. Before 2006 it was a part of Rupnagar District, but after that, it was separated as a different district.

In this city you can visit in any season as it has different tourist spots for different seasons, such as Thunder Zone Amusement and Water Park, City Park, Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary and Foy Sagar Lake can be visited in summers.

On the other hand, North Country Mall, Amb Sahib Gurdwara and Fathe Burj are best to visit in monsoon or winters. Mohali has a main bus stand in Phase 8, Sector 62, where you can find many private bus services within the state. To connect with the Tricity, Chandigarh Transport Undertaking ‘CTU’ is available which a government bus service.

It is India’s first Air Conditioned Inter State Bus Terminal which includes a mall with 10 multiplex screens and several Corporate Offices under one roof. Around 60,000 people arrive this terminal everyday form ISBT and Corporative Offices. To fulfil the entertainment it has 10 screens VIP Multiplex by Cinepolies and many play areas. Moreover, it has a fully automatic multi-level car parking and a business hotel (Hyatt Place) having 150 rooms, rooftop swimming pool, spa and a restaurant inside. This is the tallest building in the region with the facility of the helipad. It has a 100% power backup and Wi-Fi facilities. Auto-rickshaws are also available throughout the city.

Mohali has its airport known as Chandigarh International Airport. This airport connects the city to Ahmadabad, Banglore, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kullu, Leh, Pune, Shimla and Srinagar through its domestic flights.
